Insurance Options & Added Coverage

I Just Purchased a New Vehicle - That's a Big Deal!

Financing or leasing a vehicle involves making a long-term commitment that can cause unexpected stress if your circumstances change. Fortunately, we offer coverage options that are designed to reduce the financial impact on you and your loved one if anything should happen to you.

What Happens to my Car Payments if I Get Sick?

The average Ontario payout for full-time workers who fall ill or injured and unable to work is under 70%. If something unexpected should present itself, like a severe back injury or a debilitating diagnosis, your budget might not allow for medical bills, a budget cut AND a car payment. This is where the available options below come in to play.

Accident & Sickness Coverage
Accident and Sickness coverage will take care of your monthly loan payments to the financial institution during the eligible period should you become sick or injured and unable to work.

Critical Illness Coverage
Unfortunately, we all know someone who has suffered from a heart attack or a life-threatening diagnosis like cancer. During these tough times, it is important to focus all of your energy on getting better and spending time with those who matter most. If you should ever fall ill with a critical illness, and sustain a survival period for longer than 30 days, your vehicle will be paid off in full. This leave the financial stress and burden of a financed or leased vehicle taken care of and removed from your loved ones' shoulders.

What Happens to My Car Payments if Something Really, Really Bad Happens?

Life Coverage
Life coverage relieves your family from the burden of the vehicle loan in the tragic event of loss of life. This coverage pays off the insured portion of your vehicle while allowing your loved ones to keep it. In the event of an unexpected death, the absolute last thing loved ones should deal with is the finical situation of a vehicle. Let us worry about that part.

Walk Away
If your financial circumstances change without giving you time to plan, previous commitments like a vehicle loan can sometimes no longer work for you. Fortunately, you don't have to worry about this, because you're protected by WALKAWAY for the first year. WALKAWAY Protection can eliminate your finical obligation should you suffer a loss of job, physical disability and even accidental death.
WALKAWAY gives you the opportunity to return your vehicle and cancel your financing or lease contract without the threat of damaging your credit rating.
For the first year this protection is a complementary coverage that will allow you to return your vehicle and cancel up to $7,500 in debt in the event of the following circumstances:

  • Involuntary Unemployment
  • International Job Transfer
  • Physical Disability
  • Accidental Death
  • Loss of Driver's License for Age or Medial Reasons
  • Self-Employed Bankruptcy

Total Loss Protection

You can also extended your protection for the full term of your loan or lease and add more benefits and additional coverage. A great example of additional WALKAWAY coverage is the Total Loss Protection.

Total Loss Protection protects you from the occasion of a "write-off." If your vehicle is involved in an accident and is deemed a total loss, there can be a significant difference between the amount your insurer covers and the balance you owe to your financial institution. We refer to the difference between the primary insurance settlement and the amount owning as the "gap." A "gap" can represent thousands of dollars on a wrecked or stolen vehicle. WALKAWAY's Total Loss Protection aids in making the "gap" a much smaller one.

Through Total Loss Protection you receive:
  • Up to $40,000 to close the gap in your insurance settlement
  • Up to $1,000 to pay the primary insurance deductible
  • A $500 loyalty credit on your next vehicle purchase

These Insurance Programs and coverage options are just some of the ways we at Boyer Chevrolet Lindsay are prepared to help you be confident and ready to deal with anything that comes your way.
